VyprVPN is a US-based VPN provider that offers dedicated applications for most major platforms. The setup process varies depending on your device, and this guide walks through installation on each supported platform. Before you begin on any device, you will need an active VyprVPN account, which you can create at https://vyprvpn.com.
Windows
Download the Windows client directly from the VyprVPN website or your account dashboard. Once the installer file has downloaded, run it and follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation. After launching the app, sign in with your account credentials. You can then select a server location from the list and choose your preferred VPN protocol, including WireGuard, OpenVPN, or VyprVPN's proprietary Chameleon protocol. Click connect to establish the tunnel.
Mac
The macOS app is available from the VyprVPN website. Download the .dmg file, open it, and drag the application to your Applications folder. Launch VyprVPN, sign in, and configure your preferred settings. The Mac client supports the same protocol options as the Windows version. macOS may prompt you to approve a system extension during the initial setup, which is required for the VPN to function correctly.
iOS
Search for VyprVPN in the Apple App Store and install the app. After opening it, sign in with your account details. iOS users can select from available protocols within the app settings. Because of iOS restrictions, the app integrates with Apple's built-in VPN framework. You may be asked to allow the app to add VPN configurations to your device, which is a standard iOS permission request.
Android
VyprVPN is available on the Google Play Store. Install the app, open it, and log in. The Android client provides access to multiple protocols and allows you to configure features such as kill switch and DNS settings. On some Android versions, you may need to grant additional permissions for the app to run reliably in the background.
Linux
VyprVPN provides a native Linux application, though support is more limited compared to other platforms. The app is available for Ubuntu-based distributions. Download the installation package from the VyprVPN website and follow the terminal-based installation instructions provided in your account area. Once installed, the app can be launched via the command line or, on supported desktop environments, through a GUI. OpenVPN configuration files are also available for manual setup on other Linux distributions not supported by the native client.
Amazon Fire Stick
VyprVPN does not have a dedicated Fire TV app available in the Amazon Appstore at this time. However, you can sideload the Android APK onto a Fire Stick by enabling apps from unknown sources in the Fire Stick developer settings. Download the VyprVPN APK file using a browser on the Fire Stick or transfer it from another device, then install it manually. Keep in mind that sideloaded apps may not update automatically.
Router
Configuring VyprVPN at the router level protects all devices on your network without requiring individual app installations. VyprVPN supports router setup primarily through OpenVPN and the Chameleon protocol on compatible firmware such as DD-WRT or Tomato. Configuration involves downloading the relevant OpenVPN files from your VyprVPN account, accessing your router's admin panel, and entering the server and credential details manually. VyprVPN also sells pre-configured routers through its website for users who prefer a simpler setup process. Note that router configuration is more technically involved than using a dedicated app and may require intermediate networking knowledge.
